Forget Audrey Hepburn, SJP and Kate Moss a new style star has emerged from London’s Fashion Week. Who is it? You ask in unbearable anticipation well, wait no longer. Yesterdays Topshop Unique A/W 11 show crowned Cruella De Vil as our new fashion icon. With a fun collection inspired by the Disney Film 101 Dalmatians that featured white Faux Fur coats with black sports, thick faux fur hemlines and sweaters with different prints of the cartoon. The model’s hair was styled very mini mouse-esque with two buns tied with ribbons at the top of their heads and the make-up was very minimal with some of the models spotting small black drawn on dog noses, keeping the feel of the show young as well as fun.
There was also inspiration taken from other Disney films with Peter Pan collars on the silk shirts and jumpsuits. The black crushed velvet dresses, polka dot trousers and Art Deco style car print shirts were very reminiscent of 1930s Hollywood.
I personally LOVE this collection, it’s about time someone brought fun back into fashion.
