Looks from Cannes to Casual

In all honesty I’m not the biggest fan of Alexa Chung, there’s something about the well spoken, sharp-witted, kinda rock chic yet very sweet vibe that doesn’t quite reach me, however her style is something I can never fault.

Here is Alexa looking beautiful at the premier of ‘Sleeping Beauty’ at the 64th annual Cannes Film Festival in a simple yet striking Balenciaga dress paired with black pumps.

Along with Alexa’s look I have picked my favourite best dressed from the Cannes film festival to show you how to get similar but more casual looks on the high street for all day, everyday wear.

This dress from Reiss is the perfect way to take Alexa’s look into a day to day outfit which, can easily take you from the office to a bar for after work drinks with minimal or no changes to your outfit.

Here are my other best dressed picks from Cannes.

Swept away by SJP’s Ellie Saab floral Maxi.

Maxi dresses like this are the ultimate in easy glamour. Easy and on trend, perfect for those always short of time.

I found this dress on the Mango website. Although it’s not quite like the one on SJP, it’s the fullness and the nude flared and floaty material that makes this more casual maxi dress, so on trend. Perfect for throwing on for the day and easily dressed up with some wedges and accessories.

The amazing Gwen Stefani dazzled me in this sequined Jumpsuit by Stella McCartney. Her handsome choice of arm candy, husband Gavin Rossdale also deserves a style nod.

This sexy cobalt full length jumpsuit from ASOS is a great alternative to Gwen’s glam sequined look. The bold colour sings spring/summer 11 and the style can be worn in so many different ways. Pair with a blazer for a smart office look. Rock it up with a leather jacket, belt and killer heels or simply wear on its own with pumps and minimal accessories for a day look.
